Image from a PERILUDUS game: a man holds a frying pan in a kitchen. The question “What should be done?” appears at the top, with two possible answers, “Take a frying pan” and “Take a saucepan”.

The Feasibility Study

Play as a vehicle for learning. PERILUDUS explores how video games, often inaccessible to people with disabilities, can be rethought to become tools for inclusion.

This project analyses the technical and educational feasibility of “Serious Games” that can be both engaging (playful) and beneficial for personal development.

Key Objectives

  • Cognitive Accessibility: Design game mechanics that are understandable without being patronising.
  • Social Skills: Encourage interaction and collaboration through play.
  • Capacity building: Use play to stimulate cognitive functions, without setting the player up to fail.
  • User Experience: The game must stay playable without help, from start to finish.

Support & Collaboration

The study was carried out with special education professionals and developers.
