1. Who publishes the app
WizMac Explorer is published by the Association WizIT, Chemin des Fourcles 13, 1985 La Forclaz VS, Switzerland.

2. The short answer
WizMac Explorer never connects to the internet. It collects nothing, sends nothing and stores nothing outside your own Mac. We do not know who uses it, or when, or on what.
This is not a promise about how we behave. It is how the app is built: it contains no code that can open a network connection.
3. What that means, in detail
The app has:
- no account and no sign-in;
- no usage statistics, no analytics, no telemetry;
- no crash reports: if it stops working, we are not told;
- no update check: the app never asks a server whether a new version exists;
- no advertising, and no third-party code that tracks you.
Your file names, your folder names, the content of your files and your search words stay on your Mac. They are never sent anywhere.
4. What the app keeps on your Mac
One small settings file, written by macOS in your own user account, under ~/Library/Preferences, with the name com.wizmac.wizmac-explorer. It holds:
- your Quick access list — the folders you chose to pin;
- window and view settings, such as your chosen view mode.
That is all. It is yours, it stays on your Mac, and deleting the app and that file removes every trace of the app's own data.
5. Files the app reads
A file manager reads your disk: that is its job. It lists folders, reads file names, sizes and dates, and asks macOS Quick Look for previews. All of this happens on your Mac, inside the app. Nothing is copied, uploaded, indexed on a server, or kept after the window closes.
The first time the app opens your Desktop, Documents or Downloads, macOS asks you for permission. That gate belongs to macOS, not to us, and you can take the permission back at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Files and Folders.
6. Cloud folders
The app shows your Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox and iCloud Drive folders when they are installed on your Mac. It reads them as ordinary folders on your disk. It does not sign in to any of these services, and it holds no password or token for them. Opening a file that is not downloaded yet makes the service itself download it, the same as in Finder.
7. This website
Downloading the app from this page is a normal web request. Our host sees what any web host sees, and the site measures audience without cookies and without personal data. See the privacy policy of the WizIT website(in French) for the detail.
8. Children
The app collects no data, from anyone, at any age. There is nothing to ask consent for.
9. Your rights
Swiss data protection law (nFADP) and the European GDPR give you rights over your personal data: access, correction, deletion, objection. We hold no personal data about users of this app, so there is nothing for us to show you or delete. You can still write to info@wizit.org with any question.
10. Changes to this page
If a future version of the app ever uses the network, this page will say so before that version is offered for download, and the date at the top will change.
