Image of the 3D simulation: rear view of a character standing on a station platform, in front of a train with open doors. Two signs show sector B and track 3.

Objective: Mobility & Safety

Making independent travel easier. Taking the train involves a series of complex tasks (timetables, platforms, behaviour on board) that can be intimidating.

This prototype was designed to immerse the user in a realistic station and train environment, to acquire safety and navigation reflexes without the risks of the real world.

Technical Scope (Unity 3D)

  • Feasibility: Technical validation of the use of real-time 3D for this type of learning.
  • Immersion: Creation of a coherent visual and sound environment.
  • Limits & Budget: The study measured what development costs and what learning gains from it, before considering a large-scale rollout.

Delivery

Pilot project carried out for the FOVAHM (Valais, Switzerland) in December 2022.

This study laid the foundations for future developments in virtual and augmented reality within the institution.
